Data Statistics

Each time a data file is downloaded from the Intermagnet web or ftp service, a record is made of the download. At the end of each day the total number of downloads for each observatory are recorded. At the end of the month these daily statistics are amalgamated into a monthly summary. Using this form you can view the archive daily and monthly data usage statistics.

Statistics on the amount of data provided by each observatory are recorded on the 5th of the month for the preceeding month. Statistics for quasi- definitive data are recorded for the preceeding three months. Using this form you can view the archive of data provision statistics.

The difference between the current date/time and the date/time of the most recent data sample from each observatory is recorded once an hour. This is called "lag time". Minimum, maximum and mean lag times for the month are shown on this page.
